CRICKET

THE cricket season was badly affected by rain and of the sixteen matches arranged only five were completed.

Harrow County (H) 47. St. Nicholas 44. Lost.
Harrow County (A) 37 for 4. St. Nicholas 36. Lost
Watford Boys' Grammar (H) 22 for 2. St. Nicholas 20, Lost

UNDER 12 XI

Watford Boys' Grammar (H) 36. St. Nicholas 30. Lost
Rickmansworth (A) 27 for 7. Match abandoned. Rain.

With no nets available and a lack of practice in matches the standard of play was affected. Generally the bowlers were inconsistent, although several of them showed signs of real promise. Batsmen often had to go in to bat without having practised on a good wicket for over a week, and consequently tended to make mistakes early on in their innings.
