Golf (1969-70)

The school, represented by D. Phillips (M6) and J. Mellor (4A), finished eighth equal in a strong field of thirty-two teams in the London Schools' Golf Championship held at Fulwell on 1st July. Rounds of 82 and 87 by Mellor and Phillips respectively gave the school a combined score of 169, twelve strokes behind the winning total. Mellor's performance merits special praise. He shared the award for the best round by a competitor in the under 15 age group, and as a 17 handicap player he returned a nett 65, six under par for the course.
