STAFF CHANGES (1973) - published as Headmaster's Notes

The following members of the Staff left in July 1973: 

Mr. L. W. A. Bellhouse to a post at the Lodge School, St. John, Barbados.
Mr. K. R. Butler to a post at Barnhill School, Hayes.
Mr. J. C. Haydon to a post at Littlehampton School, Littlehampton, Sussex.
Mr. G. S. Joiner to become Head of the History Department at the John Taylor High School, Barton-under-Needwood, Burton-on-Trent.
Mrs. A. Kennett to a post with the Inner London Education Authority.
Mr. J. S. Kinsey to become Assistant Secretary (Modern Languages) to the Oxford Delegacy of Local Examinations.
Mr. J. Loutan to become Head of the Economics Department at Highdown School, Reading.
Mr. J. Ryan to become Head of the Physics Department at Vyners School, Ickenham.

The School wishes them success in their new appointments.

We also wish success to M. Pineau, our French Assistant for the year 1972/73. Frau Götze will be spending a second year at the School.

We are very grateful to Mr. D. W. Roberts (formerly Headmaster of Oak Farm School, Hillingdon) and to Miss J. Thorley for help in the Geography Department during the Autumn Term 1972

Mr. L. E. Shearn, B.A. (London), from Hayes Grammar School to become Deputy Headmaster.
(Mr. J. S. Kinsey served as Acting Deputy Headmaster during the Autumn Term 1972.)

Mr. R. G. Cole, B.Sc. (Eng.), from the University College of North Wales - Physics.
Mr. R. A. Lewis, B.A., from the University of Leeds - History,
Mr. R. W. Noble, B.A., from the University of Liverpool - Economics and Geography.
Mrs. J. M. Pizzey (Harrow School of Art) - part-time Art.
Mrs. K. I. Potton, B.A., from Queen Mary College, London - German.
Mr. D. Rayner, B.Sc. (Eng.) (Imperial College, London), from Barnhill School, Hayes - Mathematics.
Mr. F. Toms, H.N.C. (John Dalton Technical College, Manchester), from Newland Park College, Bucks. - Chemistry.
Mr. Toms has spent several years in industry.
Mrs. Mace left during the year to take up a full-time secretarial post with the Further Education Service of the Borough. In her place we welcome Mrs. V. Urquhart.

THE REV. W. A. HOUGHTON

At the beginning of the Autumn Term we heard with the greatest regret that Mr. Houghton had died on 6th August, only a year after his retirement. An obituary notice will appear in the next issue of the magazine.
